Where are the intelligent discussions?

I started logging on here a few weeks ago, hoping for interesting and intelligent dialogue regarding the candidates and issues. Unfortunately, about 75% (or more) of the questions end up being rhetoric and 95% of the answers end up being garbage. I know I'm not the only one who wants intelligent dialogue, where do the rest of you go for it?

I agree with you about the lack of intelligence on here. I think you would prefer blogging more so than this crap here on Yahoo! I do both, because every now and again there are some good questions on here. After a while, you come to realize who asks questions worth answering.

I know I try to start intelligent dialogues or engage a dialogue intelligently. I guess the fact I get so many thumbs down show the very low level of intelligent conversations here.

I haven't been on this sight for very long either and I am finding that if I ask a serious question with references to the site I found the information on, either it is not read, or I get accused of being some college debater that is trying to impress others. I have asked questions trying to get people to think beyond the media hype and have a real discussion about issues and they just jot a quick answer and move on. It is like it is a point game to most of them. I am looking for other sites as well.

Socialists would not sell themselves out to the insurance companies like Obama did with Obamacare. A socialist would make the government solely responsible for healthcare by nationalizing the insurance companies and then implementing something like Obamacare. In short socialists are fond of nationalizing everything whereas liberal capitalists attempt to socialize corporations.

I feel the same way. When I first got on last fall, it was more mature, now it seems like everyone is playing on their parents' computer. I used to log on everyday, now its only when I'm bored.

Yahoo is a good reflextion of what kind of people are out there in the world and 99% of them are dumb. They are all around us they eat and use up the worlds resources, and they breed in alarming numbers.

YA isnt the best choice for intelligent debate its a dumbing down experiment on par with TV execs who create crap like "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" and "Jackass."

Well, I just choose the questions (in politics) I think deserve a good answer, & express my opinion in a civil manner, & if they don't like it, well, that's their right. But If I change one's person's perspective, or get them to think, than it's worth it.

Who knows in this vast wasteland of the internet. If you want real discussion get it face to face.
