Photoshop Question!?

I have photoshop 6.0 and ive always wondered how you alter the pictures so that the whole thing is in black and white and it only accents one color, like on your shirt or in the background. Anyone know how to do that or what it's called?

    well you have to select the whole part you want in b/w and then convert into black and white , with your desired techniques...

    Initially for selection of certain specific colors only use Color range from the select menu and with your convinience slide fuzziness slider to get the desired color selected.... u can alternatively use + and - color chosers too which add or removes the color u want from ur selection.

    Select the part of the image that you want in color using the magnetic lasso, then invert the selection (Select > Inverse).

    Now go to Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation. Drag the Saturation slider on the left (to the end).
