If your chicken had remained over 120 degrees you would have been fine however since it was at room temp for more than an hour you are asking for problems!!! If you choose to use it I suggest taking the meat off the bone and making soup with it. Bringing it to a boil for at least 8 minutes will kill any harmful bacteria that may or may not have grown!

My mother, who frequently misspeaks, once asked my father if it was safe to eat the leftover Thanksgiving turkey that had been in the breadbox for three days. He, of course, thought she meant icebox and said yes. They ate it without any ill effect. But the rules say maximum of two hours total in the danger zone 40 to 140 degrees.

    Toss it.

Better safe than sick, especially with chicken. Toss it.

    Refrigerate leftovers immediately.

Rule of thumb is 4 hours defrosting and leaving out.

Chicken should not stay out that long toss it it is not worth the problem you could have if you get sick!

When in doubt, throw it out.
