Panasonic viera plasma hd tv. Does anyone have a problem with sound when the screen is all black or all white?
When viewing (mostly) the HD channels (7 and 10), if the screen goes all white or all black, I lose the sound. I don't know if it is a problem with the TV, or if it is a problem with reception.

I think it's your TV set....weak reception would cause freezing and pixellation, not sound loss.

I have the 50" and similar thing happens to mine. Started a few weeks after it was installed. I thought it was a transmission problem, but it didn't go away and perhaps got a little worse over time.
It comes on when there is a solid colour or full screen graphical background with text or pictures in front, or even blank, which has a voice over. Film credits, news graphics etc. The sound 'warbles' (like talking while gargling) until the screen changes back to a 'moving' picture.
I'm going to call Pana for service. Pls let me know if you get any news on the issue.

I have the exact same problem when the screen is mostly black. The sound becomes distorted and patchy until the screen returns to a normal picture.
