Does anyone else think the takeover was better than ether?

I hated the instrumental on The Takeover.

Ether had more sting to it, IMO.

"Takeover" is cool. I REALLY like the version used on the Unplugged album where The Roots change up and use the beats from "Shook Ones," "Oochie Wally" and "NY State of Mind" during the disses to Mobb Deep and Nas.

But "Ether" just had SO much more VENOM. I've been studying hip hop for over 20 years and I honestly cannot think of a more scathing diss track.

I listened to Takeover first and I thought it was great even though I hated the beat too. But in Ether I thought Nas destroyed him. Through the instrumentals, hook, lyrics he broke Jay-Z apart. I wasnt influenced by anyones opinion since I came across the songs one day.

I like the Takeover better dispite the fact that a majority of these cats are bandwagoneers on the Ether joint. Like I said Jay only dedicated half the song to him...Ether was all about Jay

im sorry but there is NO WAY the takeover was better than ether....

I can listen to them both over again all day and the takeover still looses...

a big piece of Jay-Z died the day ether was released.

Nas however....virtually untouched.

ether was cool on the complex tip but i still say Jay killed Nas simplistically with Takeover, Super Ugly, and People Talkin'

takeover would end most beefs but jay wasnt facing ur average rapper. nas came against all odds and recorded one of the best disses ever.

nope, i think Ether is better, cuz the whole song is dissin Jay, while Takeover disses Nas in the third verse only....

I think the Ether one is better.
