How long should I be using my disposable contact lenses?

I have Acuvue Advance contact lenses. My optometrist told me they are good for one month, but the Acuvue website recommended two weeks. I'm not sure which guidance I should follow?

Acuvue are just trying to squeeze out as much money as they can from you by saying they last not as long. I'd believe your optometrist if they've told you the contacts last for a month. If they do start feeling uncomfortable you can always take them out and use another pair.

I have been wearing the accuvues for a long time. Depending on how they feel, I can go a month or longer..

If I go on vacation (we go to the desert and camping), I will take them out sooner because of the dust and other particulate in the air in a different local.

2 weeks to a month is about right for these lenses. I do take them out a few times if I am wearing them on the long side, storing them in solution over night.

Most disposable contacts are to be worn for 2 to 4 weeks. Your doctor tells you how long you can safely wear your lens. If you were given a trial pair first, then went back to see your doctor after a weeks worth of wear, the doctor looked at the condition of the lens and your eye. If that is how your eye appointment went, then you should be able to safely wear them for 1 month. I work in optical and most patients care wear lens for a month if they don't sleep in them.

Go with the optometrist. I also wear this brand and I wear them for around a month. Sometimes a tad bit longer only because I forget to change them out. But my eyes are in good shape and it doesn't bother them one bit.

Throw each pair out after 2 weeks of wear. Sometimes you can go longer, but stick to the 2 weeks as best you can. And don't sleep in them! Tell your doctor, maybe he made an error.

I use SofLens from Bausch n Lomb...i dispose them every 4 weeks as mine are monthly disposable.

Check with your Optometrist again...let them know of your internet findings and see what he/she has to say.
