I have question about the Nintendo Wii graphics?
Is this the same graphics card in Game Cube that inside the Nintendo Wii system or a higher graphics card. I was playing Mario Galaxy at Best Buys. The graphics suck really bad the game control was excellent. I was really disappointed. Also is there a possible way to upgrade the graphics card they put into the Wii or do we have to wait for the next Nintendo system?

This is a very intresting question. I knew right away that Wii has improved graphics but I did a little research to figure out just how much better and here is what I came up with. Enjoy and I hope this helps.
Nintendo has released few technical details regarding the Wii system, but some key facts have leaked through the press. Though none of these reports has been officially confirmed, they generally point to the console as being an extension or advancement of the Nintendo GameCube architecture. More specifically, the reported analyses state that the Wii is roughly 1.5 to 2 times as powerful as its predecessor.[1][52]

The best comparison as far as graphics wise that I could find was that Wii is closer to the orginal X-Box.
According to a FIFA producer, the Nintendo Wii matches up to the original Xbox as far as power goes. Of course the Wii is an easy system to develop code for, but matching up to the power of a last generation system isn’t exactly a big deal in my opinion. People need to keep in mind that the Wii is great simply because it is original. That originality could wear off one day, but certainly doesn’t look like it’s slowing down any time soon. I honestly wish people would stop comparing the Wii’s actual system details to Sony and Microsoft’ systems. Honestly, the Wii cannot compete on a hardware level and Nintendo knows it.   The point of the article is that the Wii is pretty much what the original Xbox was. Is that really the point we need to care about? Probably not.

My personal opinion is that
Wii has pretty good graphics but the reason people like Wii isn't for its graphics. It is for the
unique gameplay. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy Super Mario Galaxy. I personally think the graphics on that game are beautiful, they are supposed to have more of a cartoony feel than realistic on most Wii and Nintendo games anyway. That has always been more of Nintedo's style compared to Sony and X-Box. Also, I'm not 100% sure, but I do not think you can upgrade the Wii graphics.

I loved my Wii. Traded it today for a new laptop but ONLY because I never touch it anymore since I got my PS3. So true though. People put down the graphics, not realizing how much more fun the games really are due to the motion control and point and click abilities. The Wii ROCKS at first person shooters. Far better than ANY other console. Resident Evil 4 (in my opinion) is the best game ever made on ANY system. You put that same gameplay on a PS3 or 360, and you couldnt survive the first area. Sometimes being able to point at the screen severely outweighs the lack of graphics. oh and FYI, Nintendo has stated that the technology in the controllers are so advanced that with the right software, they could theoretically be used as digital cameras, although they have yet to figure out the software.

The wii is technically superior to the GC in terms of specs, just check wikipedia to compare, also Mario Galaxies graphics seemed absolutely fine to me so I don't understand how you can say the graphics suck, the levels are pretty small early on but get more impressive as you progress, and no consoles don't have upgrade-able graphic cards like PC's.

No, it is not the same at all, contrary to rumors it is a significant improvement over the GCN, though not nearly as much as the PS3 or 360.
I can’t believe you are complaining about the graphics in Galaxy, everyone I know says it’s beautiful, and so does pretty much every reviewer online.
Still, it is one of the greatest games ever made gameplay-wise. Even if it looked as blocky and awful as Mario 64 does now, I would still love it.
You can’t upgrade it, I’m pretty sure all the hardware architecture is customized, and even if you could do it physically, games would still be programmed for the original GPU and would not take advantage of better hardware.

i agree, that the wii graphics suck. But they make up for being fun with all the movements and everything. I dont think we can upgrade the graphics or everybody would have, right?

what the **** are you talking about. super mario galaxy have really great graphic. wii have a higher graphic card than gamecube. i don't why people said wii graphic suck. i think it's okay. it better than gamecube and ps2 graphic and is just about the same graphic as the first xbox. a few wii game have bad graphic. i think if you get a hd tv the wii graphic is better i don't know. i think you're a graphic whore who said wii game with good graphic have bad graphic.
