Like Marino in 1984 and Manning in 2004.
Also, the Pats were like the Redskins in 1983. Those Redskins set a then record of most points scored in a regular season, finished 14-2 and the 2 losses were by 1 point each one. But in the Super Bowl they were embarrased by the Raiders.
Another good comparison is the Vikings in 1998.

I see the similarities there, sure. However, Brady already has three rings while Marino . . . well . . . never won any.

yeah it is a disappointment that Marino didnt win that year, but hey at least you can say more about Marino's character, i mean at least he isnt a cocky arrogant person.
