how long would it take to travel 4.5 light years at a velocity of 1000km/s with no acceleration?

    It would take about (300000/1000) X 4.5 years. You can do the math.

    The above is just logic, if one is traveling 1000/300000 the speed of light and you want to go 4.5 light years distance, it will take 300000/1000 = 300 times as long to travel that distance than light can travel it.

    t = 4.5*3*10^5*/1000 = 1350 years
