    moles NaCl = 58 / (22.99 +35.45) = 0.9925 mol

    Molarity = 0.9925 / 2.5 = 0.40 mol /L

    The formula to find Molarity is

    M = moles of solution / liters of solution

    so if you have 58g of NaCl find the moles

    58g x 1 mol NaCl

    --------------- = 0.99 mol NaCl

    58.44g NaCl

    then you substitute in the formula

    M = 0.99 mol NaCl

    -------------------- = 0.39 molarity

    2.5 L

    58g NaCl = 0.992 mole (58 g / 58.44 g/mol 0.992 mol)

    0.992 mol / 2.5 L = 0.40 M
