Why is spelling so important here?

I just dont understand why people act like spelling is everything on this site. Why do people rather tell you about your errors in typing than answer your actual question? It's as if people never heard of a typo. I try typing fast sometimes and i may press the same letter twice or not hit space. I make mistakes but why do some people only read your question to make fuc of you for spelling something wrong.

P.S. Im sure I made at least one spelling error, but why would i check my question. you understand what im asking, why waste my time to re-read it. and I know about 50% of my answers (If i get any) are going to be people joking around correcting my errors.

A typo is one thing (we all make them) but when a person knows they are a terrible speller and don't (or are too lazy) to press the "Check Spelling" button to at least correct some atrocious spellings -then that is ridiculous.

There have been questions that I have tried to decipher, but because of the horrible spelling, have been unable.

    Your spelling is great!!! :):):)

I have this problem often too, but people correct things like grate is spelled like great. I am an immigrant and I am not good with spelling as much as the language, because I came here missing much schooling. I have seen really bad spelling where I do not understand what they are saying but even with those questions I would say I don't understand there is not point of insulting or being mean, people think I'm a third grader on here. Its insulting, but it bothers me more because they do not answer the question, I have never had someone who did both, either answer the question or don't post because i do not want to pick a spelling error as the best answer.

If you really want mature answers to your questions, pose them in a mature way. Take care to read before you post. Everyone makes a typo now and then but some people make no effort to spell correctly and it can be hard to understand the question sometimes.

Just care about yourself and your question enough to try to get it right. If you do and someone still makes a joke and doesn't answer your question, well that's on them.

I have no problem with minor errors that show up ... I've had my share. Yours is nothing to be concerned about. :-)

However, poor grammar and poor spelling, especially when there is a 'check spelling' feature right in front of you, is being disrespectful to other people. It is a bad habit that has to be corrected before anyone gets into the working world. Employers and other employees will have a very poor opinion of one's intelligence and maturity, and it's hard to keep a job with those negative impressions against you. Good luck!!

We all make minor typos as a rule, but shocking spelling and the lack of using the spell check wind people up.

I know my spelling isn't perfect and that the spell check is atrocious, it still helps me clean my answers up a little.

I only saw one error and I think you made that deliberately and I would challenge anyone to spell that word correctly without getting ****
