Where in Britain is farthest from the sea?
I've often heard it said that no where in the British Isles is more than 72 miles from the sea. But where is the farthest point? I think it must be almost 72 miles from at least two different coasts.

St Kilda is the farthest point in the British Isles from the sea. It sits way out in the Atlantic ocean, the nearest sea to St Kilda would be the North Sea at a rough guess, double the distance that Derby claims.

My home town, Derby.
We have a spot in the town centre with is as far inland as it's possible to get. It's called 'the spot'. Not very imaginative when it comes to names, us Derbians!
