Could u give me the name of that banjo CD that Steve Martin and some other guy of some old well known musician
had done? I just remember it was on The View and that piece of information doesn't help. Oh and it's not a comdy CD it really is banjo music and Steve plays his in it.
Nope thats not it I'm looking for the CD that has Steve Martin the actor/writer/comdian playing serious banjo songs with some famous guy I've never heard of.

He may have recorded a cd with John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, a longtime friend of his and fellow banjo player.

I'm positive it was with The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's John McEuen, as The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Steve Martin were labelmates and cut tracks at the same studio.
In fact, it's the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band posing as "Toots Uncommon" that are the backing vocals for Steve Martin's "King Tut".

Are you talking about the recording with Earl Scruggs, the most famous banjo player in the world? And his two sons, and Vince Gill and Marty Stuart, and many others. I believe it's called E.S. and Friends. or Earl Scruggs and Friends.
