Riddle me this. How many strikeouts can one pitcher record in a defensive half of an inning?

Please explain your answer.

Update:

If the catcher drops the ball, the batter can still be tagged out. Also since we are correcting grammer to say "A.M is write", is incorrect. "A.M. is right" would be correct.

u could say infinite i guess like everyone else said, but what catcher would drop the ball infinite times, and not throw/tag the runner out an infinite times?

    infinite -1

He can record many as long as the catcher keeps dropping the third strike. No "one" pitcher will record this many in one defensive half inning because by that time the manager would already have gone to the bullpen.

There is no limit, but the record is seven

Drop third strike counts a an error and a strikeout

infanete. The catcher can keep on dropping the ball and the runner will be safe.

    Wow. I mean infinite.

A.M. is correct as is Padres in '08. But it is spelled "right."

A.M. is write (edit: right). Although it's spelled "infinite."

EDIT: God damn it, how the hell did I spell "right" as "write." Lol, ya got me.
