At what time during the checkout do you use the coupons?
I've never used coupons and dont know if I place them with the groceries they relate to or hand them to the checker soon as I get there or wait til they give me the total....

I always hand them to the cashier before they start scanning the food. That way, they won't think that I am coupon free and process the transaction.
poohluvs8_9_20_29: The register won't always pick it up. I've done it a couple of times (just a couple, I swear!), and it worked just fine.

Just hand them to the cashier and he/she will set it aside. When she is done ringing in the items you want, she will ring in the coupons for your savings. BTW...make sure that they are not expired. The register WILL pick it up.
