playstation 2 (ps2) disc read error!?
help! we are getting a disc read error for all of our guitar hero games which worked fine until today. we put in a bunch of games, dvds, and music cds which all get disc read errors as well.
the last time this happened we had it shipped to sony for repair (5 or so years ago) and they fixed it up for free. is there any way this can be fixed by us? it sucks.
we have a lens cleaner disc, but since the ps2 can't read it, it won't work.
please help. (its the old one, we got it the day it came out.)

i vaccumed it out as best i could, but i didn't take it apart. it actually read the lens cleaner disc after this, but it still won't play the games!
if the only option is taking it apart then my dad is gonna have to do it!

happens to me all da time
alright
flip da console over
unscrew da tiny screws on da bottom, don't lose them
da memry crd and controller have to b taken out 1st
pull top off then u unscrew da disk cover
very gently get a cloth and and clean da lens
then get all da dust off use a duster or just blow it off, make sure theres no build up of dirt
then screw evry thing back on
and dat shood do it

There are fixes out there. I have done it, its very time consuming, but it werks!
