Anyone try Forte pro tires?

well, spring is coming and i need new tires. i have always run conti's, but let's face it, they are heavy. i thought if i was going light, go light. are performance's forte pros any good? anyone here ever try them?

Update:

thanks. i currently ride conti's. i want something lighter but have trouble getting myself to spend 50 on a bike tire. i believe you usually get what you pay for, so i was concerned about these. anyhow, thanks all of you. i'm not sure which i'll get at this point. likely conti's they have been good to me.

I have tried one pair. This was a couple years ago. Maybe they have improved them -- if not, they will not give you great mileage.

Ever consider Vittoria Open Corsa EVO CX? Nothing faster. Light, with the highest thread count on the market. They feel as supple as a tubular. Performance sells them also. So does Bike Tires Direct. http://www.biketiresdirect.com/search_results.asp?...

Ever see the Conti 4000 S? It's a lightweight version of the Conti 4000 with that silica-carbon compound. I just bought a pair of them to try as soon as the traction sand gets rinsed by the rain off the roads here.

I'm with McG, the mileage will be slight! Mine got sliced within a couple of weeks on a small pavement change 3/4 of an inch at the most. The guy at the shop was defending it, but had to consede because I asked for a replacement because of their gurarantee.

Even after replacing it it it sliced in a different situation. Sucks having to replace it again and again.

I had some Kendas that I got like 7K miles on it. Amazing!

No, I haven't. I looked at them and if I were looking for tires I'd certainly consider them. Very good specs, high TPI, great price.
