Why is there so much animosity?

Because people think they have to be one or the other and they have to fully choose one side. I am sorry but I am pretty sure that I could pick pros/cons from both sides and creat a very stable and happy government. This country is trying to stop whites and blacks from fighting yet all we see are the political parties taking hits at each other. What we should do is put one person from each political party into office. Let them each put an idea out there, then let the people of the United States vote on the options and let us decide what we want our nation to do! Then maybe we wouldnt be going into a recession!

A lot of it comes from people on both sides that benefit greatly from the animosity and divisiveness.

Think of the radio hosts, newspaper columnists, bloggers, talk show hosts, etc that love to create arguments and force people to choose sides. They keep their viewers/readers entertained and the advertising dollars keep rolling in.

Then the American public goes out and spreads the same arguments. You see it right here on YA all of the time.

There is quite a bit of it on YA, evidenced by the blocking and reporting but I like to think most people of voting age aren't so racist or hateful.

We have to consider what this country would be like if there was only one party.

Because every ONE thinks that they are right and every ONE else is wrong. Talk about walking through life with eyes closed, mouth flapping, and ears plugged. Everyone has the right to their own opinion but they do not have the right to tell everybody else that they are ALWAYS wrong!! It is time to agree to disagree and try to compromise and change the world!!!

sad but true, this is the division that obama speaks of so eloquently. cynicism, hatred and racism all need to go and hopefully will be addressed on a regular basis when he's president. our country needs a fresh start!!

Because of intolerant republicans.

And their Hippocratic ways.
