Can Lumineers work for a child between 12-14?
I was watching TV one day and the commercial for Lumineers came on and I thought "WOW WHAT A GOOD IDEA!" I have a niece who is NOT looking forward to getting braces so I thought Lumineers would be a better choice beacuse it is pain free. I went to Lumineers.com and it provided me with no information. CAN anyone help?
I took soem advice so I went to see information on Invisalign. This will sound stupid ,but will my niece be a canadiate for Invisalign? It sounds like a great treatment! Thanks

No one looks forward to getting braces. Your niece should be thankful her parents can afford to invest in her smile. Lumineers or any other veneer on a person that young is silly. She would be destroying perfectly healthy teeth, and at her age would have to have them re-done more than once in her lifetime. Painless, I don't think getting shots in the front of a mouth is painless, not to mention reducing the tooth structure, and working along the gumline so the veneer will fit. Oh and wearing temporary crowns on your front teeth until the permanent ones are made.
I have veneers and even though the procedure wasn't that bad, i dont look forward to doing it again.
She could be a candidate for Invisalign (clear retainers that move teeth). But i would run from any dentist that would agree to do Lumineers or veneers on a child.

A few years ago a dentist I went to told me that he would only put veneers if I straighted my teeth with braces. And my teeth are not crooked much at all.
How about Invisalign for your niece? It's not as painless as metal braces. That's what I am looking into right now.

Honestly? She’s 12-14. Why does she need to get Lumineers? It’s only a mask for the REAL problem.
She needs to see the dentist, and even though she’s not looking forward to it, having a perfect bite and straight teeth are going to be better than pretending that she does.
Plus she’s not really in the position to complain. She’s a kid! Don’t forget that.
