Ladies, would (or does) your husband or boyfriend let you keep your maiden name?
I believe women should take the last name of their husband but I want to know what other guys are like.

I see no problem if I were married and my wife wanted to keep her maiden name.
I agree with the other person's answer that some people build their reputations around their name (maiden or otherwise).
BTW, who am I to tell a woman what to do with her name? "Let" her???? Pleeeeease!
The only topic with my wife that might be worth discussing regarding this subject would be the last name(s) of our child(ren).

It's not really his choice. It's the woman's decision and she may have valid reasons for it, especially if she has built her professional reputation under her maiden name. I think the best thing is when the couple discuss it and decide together.

Why would she even want to keep her maiden name? I know when I get married i'll take his name. It's just the way it's supposted to be!!

Well, a good friend of mine has a weird family. Her and her mother have her mother's name and her father and younger brother have her father's name. Depends on what you want...
