How can I easily strip old woodchip paper off my walls... its been on for many years.?

Are there any new methods of doing this... I believe there is something called a Paper Planer... the old woodchip is really on solid... thanks.

HI. Lightly score the paper but dont overdo it and mark the walls under the paper, then if you have a steamer use that..The scoring just lets the steam through a little quicker, once you get going its gets easier..Just one point to add, dont gouge at it when you scrape the walls its makes for lots of filling..

    Good luck

We had woodchip on every single wall in our house, we bought a wallpaper steamer from b&q for £30 it was so easy with that.

You will need to hire an industrial steamer. That is what we have just done, we had wood chip everywhere. A normal domestic one will work, but can easily burn out as our daughter's did. Good luck.

I have found a paper steam stripper the only thing to get it off...I know what you mean..

Dont forget to cover up the area too as the paper becomes quite sticky and its best to keep it off carpet and furniture...as it can make a mess...ok

hire or buy a steamer, that does it easy! the b&q one is not bad, just let it sink in a while, don't try and srape off instanteneously, must soak through

just needs a lot of patience a scraper and a very good wallpaper steamer

Steamer - but you need to score the paper deeply in order for the steam to penetrate. Warm soapy water works well too, but is slightly more messy - again, you have to score the paper.
