Be forewarned this is a long and meandering response. Knee jerk answer would be Madonna for her treatment of "American Pie". But then I heard Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" in my coffee shop the other day (if the coffee shop didn't make a practice of hiring really cute female Barristas I would have said something). This proved quite the dilemma for me. The deciding factor was Celine's song was played during the scene at the end of Titanic where Kate Winslet says "I'll never let go Jack" and with in seconds she is pushing Leo's semi-frozen corpse in to the Atlantic and abandoning him for a lifeboat. Not only did she let go but she actively ditched him(granted it saved her characters life). I really enjoyed the irony of the dialog plus watching Leo freeze and sink was rather satisfying. Considering this, I had to pick Madonna and her version of "American Pie".
Cheers

this was a while ago but I really liked KORN for some time... up until the 'Untouchables' album. I had to deal with the fact that 'Issues' was KORN going soft, but untouchables was unacceptable to me.. Not to mention they are now a 4 man band WHO KEEPS RELEASING MUSIC this bothers me as well, I don't think you should keep your name if your not the same band.... The albums after 'untouchables' i find myself too embarrassed to even try to listen to them. When you talk about great bands - they WERE up there, their self titled album rocked, as did life is peachy.... but they just got embarrassing man. How many times can you write songs about the same sapass stuff?

When Fergie first started her solo career. London Bridge and Clumsy are by far the worst songs ever!
Soulja Boy sucks too, so does that A Bay Bay by Hurricane Chris

Hello Cat
Yellow Ledbetter made Me go from mild dislike to outright hatred of Eddie Cheddar. Squealing like Your testicles are in a vice does not a singer make.
Born In The USA really put Me off of Springsteen. UBER annoyance anyone?
And if I hear Rock Star by Nickelback JUST ONE MORE TIME it WON'T be pretty.

Well it actually wasn't the song itself it's what I attached the song to (a failed relationship) that soured me on the song and the whole band. The song is "Angel Eyes" and it's the Jeff Healy Band. After that I can't stand to listen to anything from them.

I can't pin-it on a "song" -- I think it was after Pearl Jam's "Ten"
-- when the originally, fun-loving Eddie Vedder --
-- started to act SuperSerious about the "issues facing us today - News at 11"
...and then buying "VS" probably did not help - and I was through with them - and him.
However, I do like "Corduroy" from the "even more confusing album" - VITAL
Wow, Man...maybe I just don't get it (?)...lol
