What sort of photos do people take with fish-eye lens?

I recently purchased a Sigma Fisheye lens for my Canon XTi. I have taken several photos using this lens only to be dissapointed. I was aware when I bought this lens that I'd not seen very many photos out there in Photo-land. My refusal to believe that this lens had little creative value made my decision to make this purchase go forward. I'm just looking for ideas out there about what sort things people shoot using such a lens. Examples would be greatly appreciated.

Update:

I thought about pointing the camera up into the sky and catching a sunset on the left or right 3rd of the frame. Please comment on this. I have not tried this yet because of the cloudy endings to most days lately.

In photography, a fisheye lens is a wide-angle lens that takes in an extremely wide, hemispherical image. Originally developed for use in meteorology and astronomy and called "whole-sky lenses", fisheye lenses quickly became popular in general photography for their unique, distorted appearance.

    >> They are often used by photographers shooting broad landscapes to suggest the curve of the Earth. Good for natural beach scenes, daytime sky with interesting cloud formations, night sky photograqphy, insect photography can be made very interesting using fish-eye lens.

They can be used for turning the most mundane things into interesting pics...just use your imagination.

Some planetariums use a form of fisheye lens to project a two-dimensional film image of the night sky onto the interior of a dome.

Photographers and videographers use fisheye lenses so they can get the camera as close as possible for action shots, for example in skateboarding to focus on the board and still retain an image of the skater.

The first music video to be shot completely with fisheye lens was for the Beastie Boys song "Shake Your Rump" in 1989.

Hope this helps with some ideas.....I'm sure you'll come up with other ideas yourself.

Photos that need more of a depth, like the person above said city buildings. Also beaches, that shows the roundness of the beach and the depth. Anything that u want to make look less flat, rounder, or sometimes bigger. If u want to show more of a room u could use a fisheye lense because u could see like 3 walls at once. Hope I helpped. (=

So many, just like, ask the same basic question all the time. They want cheap quality. That does not, and never has, exist. Quality is expensive. For that budget you'll get low quality that will last perhaps 15 months or so.

I know a real estate agent that uses a fish eye to take photos inside homes that she is selling. It allows her to capture more and makes the spaces look bigger from what I understand. Presentation means a lot in that industry. I haven't toyed with one myself though.
