How do i take the header off the last page of a word document?

Hi, I have to turn a paper into my professor for a grade. The report itself is 5 pages long. I need headers on page 2, 3, and 4, but I have to include on the report an Itinerary as the last page. So, the entire report is 5 pages, but I can't have a header on the first and last page. Can anyone tell me how to remove the header from the last page? Thanks

At the end of page 4, insert a section break. (From the menu: Insert-> Break ->Section Break - Next page)

On page 5, double-click on the header to bring up the Headers / Footers control bar. On it you should see an icon that looks like two pages side-by-side, with an arrow underneath that connects them. It should be highlighted (pressed in). Bring the mouse cursor over it and you should see a tooltip "Same as previous". Single-click on that icon.

Now you can delete the header on the top of page 5 without affecting the headers on the previous pages.

On the second last page move your curser to the end of the text and from the menu select Format then Break. A little window will open select 'Section Break' - 'Next Page'

Then go into the header on the last page and double click to access it. The Header toolbar should open you can now click the 'Same as Previous' button which will allow you to either delete the header without effecting the previous sections header or change it. Sometimes you will have to go back to the previous header section and redo it. But putting in a section break rather than just a page break will allow you to change headers and footers and alike.

    Good Luck

Insert a "Section Break" before the last page.

Then Microsoft Word will allow you to have a different header / footer for this section.

Maybe do the itinerary on a completely seperate word document, sorry I don't know how to remove the header from just one page.

I would do it on an entirely different document...if I've understood you correctly, otherwise sorry.

You have to insert page breaks. The command to do that should be found under "Insert". It might take a while to get it just right, practice definitely makes perfect with this.

This is for Microsoft 2002, so it might have changed for a newer version.
