    This is really like saying:

    -y5 * -y5 * -y5 * -y5

    When you multiply a even number of negative numbers the result is POSITIVE. So we have:

    y5*y5*y5*y5

    Since the base of each exponent is the same (y), you can just add the exponents in this case and get:

    y (5+5+5+5) or y20 ( that is, "y to the 20th power")
