Is this for real...or is it a scam?
I received an e-mail advising me that my YaHoo! account will be deactivated if I don't send my e-mail address, username and password immediately. It's supposedly all part of the "all new YaHoo!", but it's written very unprofessionally, almost like those scam letters you get from Nigeria. Is this for real - or is it a scam?? -RKO-

Total scam. The fact it was written unprofessionally was your first clue. Also, you should NEVER send a password over email. Type in the name of the Website yourself, never click on a link in the email.
Of course, Yahoo will turn down Microsoft's offer, so Yahoo won't be changing much soon because of it.

That message you got is nothing but a phishing scam. Don't click on the link and give the phishers your Y! ID and other related personal info, as this will give them the opportunity to tamper with your account. They can change the password in an effort to deny access into your Y! account.
Please remember that Y! doesn't ever send you an email to verify your account information, as it already has that information stored internally in its servers.
Send the email to the following addresses:
phishing@cc.yahoo-inc.com
mail-spoof@cc.yahoo-inc.com
Then give the fraudulent message the spam "heave-ho" into the garbage.

Definitely a scam!!!
Forward the email to Yahoo! right away.
Do a check on the I.P. address before you do and it will probably tell you the location from where the email originated.

DO NOT reply. This is a phishing scam attempting to get you to give them all your personal info. It's not from Yahoo, just delete it and ignore it. Good luck and be careful.
