To the extent it will be more difficult to beat the Mets when he is pitching, yes. I believe the addition of Santana will give the Mets a decided advantage over both the Phillies and Braves this year.

Santana will easily face the Braves atleast 3 times this season and its not very often both teams run an ace out there at the same time. But in the past Tim Hudson has a great record against Santana, last year when the Braves and Twins played Hudson outdueled him 3-1. He is a great pitcher but I honestly don't believe that he alone will effect the Braves unless its in the playoffs. Cause the Twins ran him out there several times in one series against the Yankees and he shut them down. So I would say he will moderately effect the outcome of the Braves/Mets games.

I don't think we can neccessarily crown the Mets N.L. East champs just yet, nor know that Santana will be a dominant force in the N.L.... i'm not doubting his talents whatsoever..... As for the Braves, they got a great young team but seem a bit thin in the starting pitching department. Anything can really happen, just look at what happen to the Mets last year....

Yes because Mets and Braves play in the same division which means more games being played against each other. Considering Santana being healthy, he will win a lot of games.

unfortunately with the addition of johan santana, that took some of the braves chances to make the playoffs. but i still think they have a decent shot.

He'll probably have 5-6 starts against them; he most definitely will be a factor.

The Mets hould win the divison. They're the only team in the division with a roster to win 95-100 games.

yes considering the mets and braves will play each other approximatley 18 times ans johan will probably start 5 of those(all wins) so i would say yeah, the braves will have 5 less wins because of him. and on top of that, all the other wins he gives the mets will also hurt the braves chances at the division title.

    prediction: 1st mets

    2nd phillies

    3rd not lanta

    4th nationals

    5th marlins

    of course

a great pitcher will always slow down even a great offense and Johan will most likely face them twice so the effect won't be huge but their will be an effect

  • 1 decade ago

of course hes a good pitcher and the braves will have to face him a couple times
