Will my ex ever forgive me for breaking up with him?

He was my first serious bf...we were together for 1.5 years...and he really was in love with me...we were in the same school for a year..but then he moved, and we were long distance till about a week ago...

I just couldn't take the distance anymore...I really did/do care for him, but I'd keep getting confused about how i felt for him...and I thought maybe we just need to be lives our lives and be ourselves...but he is just really angry about that...

i feel as if i wasted 1.5 years of his time but I know that this was undeniably the best time of my life until the distance got in the way...

do you think he will ever forgive me and accept my idea that we need to meet other people and become who we have to...before we become super committed
