powdered sugar on french toast?

ok, everyone else in my family uses syrup, and looks at me oddly because I only like powdered sugar(with a little butter).

I'm also wondering, since I'm trying to lose a few lbs, which is less calories? I figure I use about a teaspoon of powdered sugar per slice, while they use at least a tablespoon of syrup (the cheap kind, not real maple)

Update:

ok thanks everyone!

I dont eat french toast a whole lot, maybe once a month, and only one, maybe two slices. usually I eat yogurt or wheat chex for breakfast.

BUT when I do eat it, I use our own fresh brown eggs, wheat toast and very little butter. ITS NOT LIKE I'M PIGGING OUT!

I am not obese by any means, and I am not going to omit French toast or anything from my diet. those of you that go on diets and say you CANT eat this or that are depriving yourself, and to me that isnt healthy.

like i tell my girls:

Everything in moderation!

Trying to lose weight? Eatring French toast isn't the way to go. On the other hand, I LOVE french toast with powdered sugar and butter! Sometimes just a drizzle of honey too! I think the whole "toast" thing disappears when drowning in syrup, don't you?

Powdered sugar has fewer calories than the same measure of maple syrup. However, if you're trying to lose a bit of weight you should start using applesauce or fresh fruit on your french toast or cereal or whatever you would ordinarily use sugar on.

I love powdered sugar on my toast! I think that powdered sugar is healthier than maple syrup but eating slim isn't always the way to get healthy! Get active! Also, the cheap kind is not healthier than the real kind!

Eat it the way you like it. My daughter likes pecans mixed in her syrup. As for me, I put syrup on them and then sprinkle a little powered sugar on top. The combination is a good taste treat.

Jimmy Dean makes/sells pancakes and sausage on a stick. They are a little sweet. I'm sure the syrup is baked into this tasty treat. I love them. They can be found in the cold or freezer section of the grocery store.

The best way to make French Toast is to butter your toast, liberally coat with cinnamon sugar then grill until the sugar is crispy.

Source(s): As for slimming - don't eat French Toast...

Powdered sugar is less calories, but you should probably lay off french toast in the morning if you are trying to lose weight or you could try fruit on top that's really good & healthy for ya but don't go try putting some chocolate covered strawberries on there I don't think that'll help much lol

Instead of syrup or powder sugar try using honey

I eat mine with butter and plain sugar, so yummy.

If you use maple syrup, use the real stuff, it's better for you.
