I live in Ireland (ex-pat Brit). I'm a reader; a collector of "factoids"; a gardener (grow all my own vegetables); I have a variety of animals, and over the years have had the company, generosity and companionship of many, many species; a film-goer, although I regard films as a source of entertainment, the "deep and meaningful" films that the critics love, bore me to walking out. I'm happy to pass on the knowledge I've acquired over the years - and there have been a lot of them. Oh yes, and I've been a computer analyst programmer, database designer (etc) since 1983.

    I need the proprtions for making Jellies. I have about 1.5 litres of juice, I'd like the quanity of sugar to add in Kilos, please.

    I've sort of worked out that by volume, it would be approx 2/3 (two thirds of 1.5ltr) in sugar

  • Collie Found - question deleted?

    Does anyone know what happened to the "Collie found, obedience trained", in the Croydon area, question. Has anyone got the text to that question?

    I contacted a couple of Collie clubs about this dog, but now the possibility of locating an owner can't go forward because (possibly) some Troll has reported the question...

  • Status of Yahoo! Answers?

    What is going on with Answers today? I've spent in excess of an hour trying to submit an answer to a question. The error has gone from the annoying "Coffee break" message to "Answers is currently unavailable".

    If the team is "fixing" things again - I wish they wouldn't.

    Is there a blog or message board somewhere that can give us information on the status of Yahoo! Answers?

    The "click here" link is a japanese IP address and has nothing to do with Paypal.

  • Edited Answer can't be submitted?

    I've been trying to edit one of my answers. The "edit" and "preview" parts are fine, but when I click on the "Submit" button, answers hangs around for a while and then returns a blank page.

    The Answer hasn't been updated.

    I'd understand it that blasted error 999 page came up, but absolutely nothing, no error, nothing!

  • Why have URLs lost their hyperlinks?

    I noticed this morning (I may be a little delayed in this "noticing"), but all the URL's have lost their hyperlinks.

    Is this a new policy from Yahoo? Have they changed the site and things have stopped working?

  • Yahoo! - 999 Unable to process request at this time?

    More and more frequently now I'm getting this error when I try to SUBMIT an answer.

    It doesn't happen to all answers, it only seems to target specific questions and then the error NEVER clears for that one answer. I can answer other questions without a problem while this error is happening. I've even tried opening another browser and answering the problem question from there.

    What the ***** is going on in Answers?
