valentines day gift ideas for my wife? Ladies can you help?

you know what i love to recieve for valentines day....it is perfume...i absolutly love recieving perfume from my man and i so much appreciate it to because he gets me exactly what I would have picked out....oh and maybe by her a cute blouse or some article of clothing that she might like...or some things at bath and body...or treat her to a massage....or her nails getting done...

Something personl (even if cheap) is always nice, particularly something that shows he paid attention. It can be as simple as getting me that CD he's been hearing me rave about, or getting me some lotion that he noticed was running out.

Another thing is time off. I don't know if you have children or what your work/volunteer/family obligations are. I know many mothers who just want a grown-up dinner out on the town with no kids in sight. Maybe it's 2 hours for her to have the house all to herself one Saturday night so she can have a bubble bath while you take the kids out to Grandma's.

Whatever it is, it's always most heart-warming when it was a gesture that showed what I did in everyday life was important to him.

Whisk her away for a night or two at an hotel. Don't tell her where you are going but just pack a bag :-) If you have children get someone you trust to have them for the duration of the break.

Failing that......as someone else suggest an nice home cooked meal (with you as chef) with the nice touches like candles and nice table linen.

My dad took my mom on a dinner cruise (which was my idea). My mom sounds like your wife, no candy, or flowers. But the dinner cruise is nice, if you have access to something like that, because it is for a few hours and the food is really good and there is dancing, an amazing view, etc.

Just get her a rose, even they say they don't want it they do. A nice romantic dinner alone, you can prepare it for her at home a little surprise alone together or go out on the town & spend a nice quiet dinner together or relive that 1st special date where you met or something. Or a day for her at the spa/salon its a nice gift something for her to relax and treat herself.

A card with a certificate for a manicure and pedicure at a nice salon or a day at the spa. Massage or something. Or you could make her dinner and warm her up a nice bath with aromatherapy and let her relax at home.

Can you surprise her with a trip to a sunny location? My husband arranged time off for me with my supervisor behind my back and also had my mom pack my suitcase. I was told the night before our flight that we were going on a surprise trip. He wouldn't tell me where until the next morning before getting on the plane. We went to Puerto Rico. It was a fun trip and was made even more special that we got to visit our military friends who were stationed there.
