Our pet Parakeet is about 8 years old. He just recently hurt his leg somehow...?

He will only stand on the other leg and isn't flying much. He is still chirpping away and eats, drinks, plays with his mirror. We want to take him to the vet but we never hold or touch him and we are afraid that all that stress of touching and getting him to the vet may give him a heart attack or make the situation worse. Any suggestions??

A towel's a good way to go. To help keep the bird calm make sure you keep his head gently covered when you're holding/moving him into the carrier. They tend to panic more if they can see everything going on.

GENTLY grab your bird in a towel and put him in a carrier, take him to the vet.
