Sonic CinePlayer Decoder popup?

Recently, when I point to or try to play a vid clip (.mpg .avi etc.) I get a popup looking for Sonic CinePlayer Decoder Pack. This happens every time and I have to wait for it to cancel when file CPDECPACK.MSI is not found. Anyone know how to get rid of this anoying popup? I do not have or want a Sonic CinePlayer.

Sounds like the CinePlayer Decoder Pack for Windows Media Player was once installed on the system for whatever reason.

Go to My Computer, then Tools, then Folder Options, then View, and select "Show hidden files and folders". Then do a search (be sure to include system folders) for all files named "sonic" or "cineplayer" or even "cine". Delete any files or folders with sonic or cineplayer in the name, and carefully scrutinize any with "cine" in them.

Then do a regedit search (go to Start Menu, Run, then type regedit) for sonic or cineplayer. Delete any obvious keys. Then reboot.

Be careful when deleting files and using Regedit of course.

There are other ways to get rid of it but they're too difficult to explain. Good luck.

K-lite Codec Pack is the solution if you have any problem with codec. You can download it for free here http://bit.ly/1uUre9w

If you are unable to watch video or you can't open any files (avi, mp4, divx, etc...) it's very likely that your computer doesn't have right codecs. You need to install K-lite Codec Pack to fix the issue.
