I did a project on how different types of music affect teens blood pressure and I found that heavy metal tends to increase the blood pressure so its a plausible topic...I would make the thesis statement something like "Heavy metal has a negative effect on teens because...(list your main points). And you could start your introduction with a quote about the negative effects or a startling statistic you found in your research! Hope I could help :)

is it like a book report, or are you just summarizing or are you supposed to research a certain theme or topic in the story... what are the directions? I'm sure your instructor gave you more directions than just to write a research paper
