99 Blazer cold start trouble?
my blazer gives me trouble the first time I try to start it in the morning. I just put a new starter in, have had the plugs/wires/fuel filter changed and the battery is good. Acts like it wants to turn on but doesn't. Sometimes while holding the key, the motor shakes. After I get it started the first time it will crank every time the rest of the day. Then the next day it does it again. This just started a few weeks ago but before that it has been running very rough in cold/wet weather until it warms up about 20 min or so. The best way to describe the "rough" running is jerking (at aprox 2000 rpm) like someone just learning to drive a stick. This is very irritating.
it is a 5 speed 4WD

A common problem with Blazer 4.3 liter engines are leaking fuel injector poppet valves due to carbon build up.sounds like you may have fuel leaking into the engine overnight after engine shut down causing a flooded condition the next a.m. start up.GM has had such a problem with the poppet valve set up that you can now retrofit most of those engines to eliminate the poppets with more conventional injectors. The best way to know if you have fuel saturation overnight is to perform a fuel pressure leak down test with a pressure guage and fuel line shut off equipment........most reputable repair facilities have the equipment and knowledge to perform the test but be prepared to leave your vehicle overnight. Good Luck.

I'm assuming you do not have a check engine light on, so I would hook up a fuel pressure gauge and see what the pressure is first thing in the morning. I am positive that you have a fuel pump that is going out.

Heh heh.. dynamite.. Yeah. properly if it shuts down like that it makes me think of that a sensor has long gone wacky and is giving the laptop a sign to close the gas proper down. Is there a examine engine mild???? while you're into changing random areas such as you have been i might placed some oxygen sensors on your buying record. They sniff the exhaust for unburned gas and in the event that they're shot they might supply the laptop a faux rich sign. they're purely approximately seen a music-up merchandise to boot.
