if sterling sharpe didnt get hurt would farve to sharpe be the best combo over rice and montana ?
the saddest day i would recall during farve's early days was when sterling sharpe got hurt in tampa in 1994 landed on his head because farve and sharpe was on a roll as a combo qb-wr
he caught 383 catches 4815 yrds 46 tds 12.57 yrds /catch
between 1991-1994
prior to farve coming his stats from 1988-1990 is 212 catches 3319 yrds 19 tds 15.65 /catch
stats from packers.com under all time roster just curious out there from other packer fans or football fans of the game !
its just amazing how the west coast offense ultilized sharpes skills from the coaching staff of how they played their offense from lindy infinte's in the late 80's to the early 90's mike holmgren's style of west coast offense how the changes happen all the gamesi watched sharpe he was a beast of breaking away tackles and he ran good clean crisp routes thats what i remeber of sharpe since he doesnt really get mentioned that often
and he played against bump and run very well too ....!!i think he might be above on moss with the breaking away at piont of attack thats where sharpe was better at compared to moss but i will say moss reminds me of sharpe also thats why farve wanted moss he saw same quiality as sharpe who couldnt blame anyone go after moss

I don't know about beating out Montana to Rice, but they could have given them a serious run for their money.
Sterling Sharpe was a rare type of wide receiver that we don't see very often anymore. A big bodied player who had great quickness and speed, and wasn't afraid to dish out some of his own contact which made him perfect for the short-intermediate passing game of the West Coast Offense.
From the film I've watched between Favre and Sharpe, it could have been one of the all time greatest combinations. After Sharpe went down, Favre never had that type of receiver again. Yeah he had decent receivers in Freeman, Brooks, Driver and Rison for a few years, but never the talent level of Sterling Sharpe. He was defenitely Hall of Fame worthy, and had they played all or majority of their careers together, they could of beaten out Montana to Rice.

He became rather a heck of a participant in his occupation. i do no longer think of he touches Rice although... Rice is hands down the GOAT. yet i might say Sharpe finally ends up an excellent 3 All Time Receiver if he has say an entire occupation extremely. He'd be in the communique alongside with the likes of Randy Moss for #2. despite the fact that that is all subjective. This ESPN poll has former gamers and coaches rank who they think of are the best 10 WRs of all time. so which you will undertaking out Sharpe's numbers and notice how they study to the greats.

Actually, Steve Young to Jerry Rice was a more productive passing combo than Montana to Rice. But yes, Sterling Sharpe's injury probably derailed a Hall of Fame career, although a huge credit goes to Packers' GM Ron Wolf, who did an outstanding job replacing him (Antonio Freeman, Robert Brooks, and Andre Rison).

Sharpe is one of the most underrated receivers of all time. Barring Sharpe's injury, I think as a combo they would be on equal ground next to Rice and Montana.

Sterling Sharpe had all the talent Randy Moss has and never got to display it. Cowboy fan, saw Irvin get his career cut short too.

Manning to Harrison, Marino to Clayton, Young to Rice, Unitas to Berry, Kelly to Reed and Marino to Duper are a few other great ones off the top of my head.

The greatest QB to WR combo is Peyton Manning to Marvin Harrison. Look at the numbers man. They have destroyed the previous td reception mark for a qb/wr hook up.

Indeed Sharpe was one the best receivers of all time. There is no doubt he would of been in the top ten if his career lasted little longer.

He used to throw to Sharpe on almost every play. The d knew where he was going and they still couldn't stop it.
