    Locked Keys In Jeep

We locked our keys in our 2004 jeep liberty. We used a coat hanger, hooked it at the bottom, and came through where the door and the top of the frame of the jeep meets. Not the window. Did a small amount of damage to the seal, but no leaks. Once the hook was in we were able to grab the door handle and pull it easily enough to unlock the door, it was actually pretty simple and quick. Getting the coat hanger past the seal of the door is the only challenge, you could probably be way gentler than I was and not damage the door seal

Use a jimmy or get someone elses and make a copy and than shave the key down the the sidewalk and that Might help you unlock your jeep. Ex Locks Smith

Contact a locksmith, or a dealership. They stand a decent chance of being able to open the door.

Or else contact the local police dept. On some cars, they can use a jimmy to unlock the door from the outside. I used to do this for people when I worked for a police dept.

    edit::

You can try the keyless entry thing through the phone, but don't expect it to work. The keyless entry system uses radio signals. Phones transmit sound.

there is a little wire bar that connects to the lock tumbler.

when you spin your key you are lifting up on that little bar that is hidden in your door.

if you get a thin peice of sheet metal with a hook cut into the end to pull up on the bar inside, that is what a jimmy bar thing does.

it should go down straight beside where the key goes in, but on the inside of the door.if your door was see through it would help alot HAHAHA...I cant explain too well right now.

Other than breaking a window - call a locksmith

If you are home you should always have a spare set of keys.

I did this and I was able to prise down the window just enough to get a steel wire around the inside opening handle or maybe if you can't get the handle maybe the pull up button so you can open it from outside. good luck.

Well, I'd say, call the dealership/ service center to assist you. I wouldn't break a window, especially when cops, or other people will see you do it. Deal with the problem like you really own the car (which, you do...right?) :-)

    1. use the other set that came with the vehicle.

    2. call the police and they will sometimes help you.

    3. call your insurance company because if you have full coverage they will send someone out for free to unlock it.

    4. don't break the window.

A large rock or for about 75 dollars, a locksmith. 135.00 for a window.
