I would prefer not mixing the two but if want to....

I've used both and heres what found:

Back and red- this is a damaging and killing combination, I would have to say the most destructive in all of magic. It quickly and easily kills everything in its path by using direct damage and instants that kill creatures. BUT it really lacks creatures of its own its almost defenceless and over time you are overwhelmed trying to save yourself with all the instants.

Back and blue- this is a tricky deck to face and use, it relies on cards that help bring others out. It uses counter and destroying cards to take over enemy creatures and it also uses reanimation. BUT it can be slow and really lack killing power.

If I had to choose I would use black and red.

If you must make a decision to begin gambling MTG, and I endorse sure if you'll manage the complexity, get an Intro Pack. The Deckbuilder's Toolkit is most effective well if you recognize what you are doing. Yugioh is a dull, damaged recreation. The pix are made to draw kids and the playing cards are built without a steadiness so there's a ban record that alterations each and every few months and that ends up in moeny wasted on playing cards that can't be performed. Magic does rotate it is codecs however playing cards that experience turned around out of ordinary can be utilized in another layout, except pauper. Magic has a sort of codecs, from ordinary and improved, to precise ones like Commander.

Well, either one will work great, but you should choose based on your level of play. If you are in a high class tournament, than your red-black deck will just get ripped apart by all the control decks usually floating around. However, if you are playing a casual game, you will rip apart your friends with HELLFIRE!!! WOOOO!!!!!! Anyways, just be sure to pop in a few jagged poppets (no pun intended) and some flame waves and you'll do great. But if you are running blue black, you absolutely need four remands and four damnations.

Hard to say, it really comes down to personal preference and tornament format. I personally would prefer blue and black, which can be used to make a very good control deck. Counterspells are very effective, as well as black cards that empty your opponents hand by forcing then to discard, forcing them to play off the top of their library, then use cards like Glimpse the Unthinkable to put cards from their library into their graveyard. Or tap enemy creatures with a Twiddle and destroy them with Royal Assassin. Cards like Megrim and The Rack can do the damage for you, but If they have alot of creatures in their graveyard, you can play Avatar of Woe for two mana.

Of course, the best deck you can make utilizes all five colors.

It really matters on what the deck's strategy is like, you can't say its a good deck because of its colors. But this might help

Black: Is the color of demise, the idea for black deck was to have an arsenal of creature kill spells to let your creatures take the field. An agressive color. (The best mono black I know is "The Classic Rack" deck, which doesn't focus on black's killing theme, but more on making your opponent discard)

Blue: Is the color of manipulation and change, blue is in my opinion, the funnest color to include. Blue spells are for meddeling with your opponents gameplay by countering or bouncing spells to buy you time. Blue is rarely aggresive and takes time and skill. (My opinion is that Blue is the closest to the "Unhinged" set of magic, look it up as well as mono blue decks)

Red: Is the color of destruction, red focuses on taking down your opponent as fast as possible with low mana cost spells designed to damage your opponents. (People who play mono red love cards like "Shock" or "Tarfire", cheap burn spells that do nice damage)

Combine the themes of any of the three colors and see which combinations you like best, i would pick black and blue, but that takes a bit of skill and experience.

I like black and red, because I'm a red freak. But seriously... Go with black and red. Black and blue isn't very good.
