No I can't. We bought our son a computer over 20 years ago, I thought is was just the dumbest thing to buy a kid, times have changed. My husband spent over $1,700 for a radio shack computer for a 12 year old who only played games on it. That old thing couldn't do much like these newer models can do for allot less money I really need my computer now that we live overseas. I use it for everything from skyping our son in the US to watching netflix and of course e-mails to people and going onto answers for fun. I have even recently found long lost family members, I have found a few even immigrated to Australia back around 1940 when they were relocated off their lands in the Sub Carpathains. have a great aunt and 3 cousins living down under. Amazing information all via the internet.

I am old enough to actually remember life without computers. But even for me it's hard to imagine it today.
I got into computers in the 1970s as a hobby, and since then my life as revolved more and more around them. Every job I've had since then has had more and more to do with computers. I now operate a one-man business out of my garage that would be impossible without computers. Sometimes I think it's strange that this has all happened during one lifetime!

I was born in 1973 so I have seen us go from the electric age to the electronic. When I was young, very few household appliances had a microchip (unless you were rich :) )
now, as I type, I count at least 15 things in my immediate vicinity that contain one(or more). If the UK had a computer wipe out, we would be in big trouble. No phone networks- most people's bank accounts would be inaccessible. I couldn't do the job I do!
I'm certain that we now have an over reliance on computers and electronics. I fear though, that it's too late to go back.

I would say a computer greatly enhanced my life as for other people , well it can make a loner not a loner via the Internet .
Then again some people never get off the Internet so I guess the computer has its faults like anything else and I sure won't be giving mine up anytime soon :)

The world would suddenly realise how dumb people have become from relying on them too much.
Could you do long multiple equations/division?
Can you spell simple words?
Skills such as animation may emerge, rather than CGI and computer software.
Also we would realise how many jobs would be created as time progressed and everything and everyone adjusted to the cause and effect.
We wouldn't have our lives tracked and monitored and there would be more socialism.
Elections might actually be fair.
Banks would have people.
But the supermarkets would go, "aaaaaaaaaargh!"

At times I think the computers are a little toxiques to our live, now the people is workaholic because they still working after hours in their laptops or blackberry, we are loosing a little the time to share with family, friends and even with ourselves, other hand now we have the great opportunity of cross borders and make friends from different countries and to have access to all kind of information.
So I think the computers are part of society evolution, will see what the new times bring us....

I am old enough to remember life without computers. I was born in 1945 and was introduced to them in 1984, so a lot of my life was spent without them. They have made some things easier I suppose but there are instances of lost records and the internet has caused a lot of problems. I am happy to use it but wouldn't mind if it disappeared tomorrow.

Believe it or not, some of us were around before computers and contrary to popular belief, I don't think computers have helped one iota with respect to productivity in the workplace.
It's all a big scam and Bill Gates is the ringleader.

I use computers all the time. They regularly go wrong. My car has a computer that works the climate control. It's gone wrong. My car has a computer that manages the engine. I'm worried.

Yes, I can. I love my computer, but sometimes I rely on it too much. I sometimes think I'd be better off without it, in the long run.
