Linux Ubuntu and Video Podcasts?
Hello!
So I am about to give Linux Ubuntu a try for a while -
I think I should be able to do all of what I do now on the computer - However, I guess itunes is not compatable -
I like itunes for the video podcasts myself - does anyone know of any way to find podcasts that are not only provided by itunes-
AlSO!
Does anyone out there have any favorite video podcasts that they might recommend as well.
Thanks -

Use Rhythmbox instead of itunes, it can get the lyrics and you can also get album artwork (or did I use amarok for that?) and podcasts. For video podcasts, search internet....
You'll get detailed instructions, step by step, how to cut and paste and add a repository, you're looking to download MIRO
It runs nicely on ubuntu.
P.S. I think the dock is kinda cool too, 'Avant Window Manager' - first get compiz fusion set up.
Miro has several thousand free channels of video podcasts - around 3 for youtube, but two of them download mostly junk. Some really cool ones from hmmm let me open and look...
lots of free National Geographic stuff, short wildlife clips, iMovies, ubuntu screencasts are good to see your way around, Newsnight video, Diggnation, NBC, TedTalks - recommend this one - 5 stars. CNN daily, Youtube most viewed (avoid it!) You tube Most Discussed is ok, HD Podcasts, Telemusicvision, ON Dating Kqued quest, Nasa's Sun-earth daily, Fashion Rocks, Fashion daily, Catwalk, Cerealized, Terra (nature) Wild Chronicles, Iraq video diary, CalYoga, Videobomb, Whatakatikei river val.... can't read it, forgot it
HD - NASA HiDef, Mosaic: World
it's good, but set the downloads carefully. I went shopping for a few hours, and found my 50GB partition full to bursting =)) now I mapped it to my backup partition (best plan, if you run ubuntu, set a 'storage' partition, or your D: drive - keep C: windows small, keep your ubuntu small - maybe 50GB each, and use the rest for sharing the storage space (set your Rhythmbox to see your MUSIC folder, the folder where you kept your itunes music - it will import the itunes stuff.
good luck, and gimme 5 stars my friend ;)

Hi. There are lots of different applications offering videopodcasts under Ubuntu Linux. Forexample Miro which you can also run under Windows. I would advise you to enter 'video podcasts" in the add/remove application or synaptic. You can find the add/remove applicaton under Applications > "Add/Remove". Synaptic under System > Administration. As for podcasts I don't really look that much at them so I cannot give you a good advice on that.
