First thing never ever down load the links for file securities for media player they are almost always viruses. Then if it's already infected you will want to download a trial version of NOD32 from ESET.com. you will want to install and run the software via windows safe mode to prevent the virus from being stuck in a protected file. NOD32 is the best anti virus on the market if you have a techy friend you may want to ask for help configuring the software though.

To quote the movie Aliens, "Nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure."

It sounds draconian, but if you get a nasty virus, sometimes the only way to truely get rid of it is to format the drive and re-install.

Avast (http://www.avast.com/) is an awesome antivirus. It has saved me a couple of times. You can also use AVG as a firewall, and Adaware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/), and Spybot Search and destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org)/ to scan for spyware, etc.

Honestly, once you are infected, you do not know what else is being let in.

The three best free ones. I recconmend using all three.

Anti-Virus - AVG Anti Virus Free Edition (Grisoft)

Anti-Spyware - Spybot Search and Destroy (Safer Networking)

    Anti-Adware - Ad-Aware Personal (Lavasoft)

Download, update, and run all three and that should hopefully take care of your problem.
