Are there any jobs in Law Enforcement that involve the elderly and that I can do with an Associate's Degree?

I've been a Security Guard and liked the work but not the pay.

I'm too old to become a cop(45yrs) but like working with the elderly(currently work with Alzheimer residents). Am curious to know if any such position exists and what the requirements are. Please, serious answers only. Thank you! Guard Dog

Hey, I am sure since you work with the elderly you know about APS?

Adult Protective Services,,,,it's like CPS only for much older people....

You got a computer word search it with your state/county

might be a good job for you.

You don't state what area you're from!!! How's about checking with your state's Dept. of Consumer Affairs, they might be able to help you, in that direction. There's also the city, county, state or federal. Why don't you inquire with the different governmental agencies about their programs, you'll never know what you'll come up with next.

I'm here in Los Angeles, where there's a need of protection for the elderly or the aging population here in LA county. You already know that this population needs great protection, right along with the disabled and other classes.

Hopefully, this answered your question somewhat.

    Good luck in your search.

Well first you are not too old. I became an Alaska State Trooper at 43. Most departments have no age limit. All you need is the physical and mental ability.

Your state has some sort of licensing and enforcement agency for the care and abuse of elders. Not exactly law enforcement but close.
