Typically, ovarian cysts are functional (not disease related) and disappear on their own. During the days preceding ovulation, a follicle grows. At the time of expected ovulation, the follicle fails to rupture and release an egg. Instead of being reabsorbed, the fluid within the follicle persists and forms a cyst. Functional cysts usually disappear within 60 days without treatment and are relatively common. They occur most often during childbearing years (puberty to menopause), but may occur at any time. Since functional ovarian cysts typically go away without treatment within 1 to 2 menstrual cycles, your dr may recommend a period of observation without treatment to see whether her ovarian cyst gets better or goes away on its own. This would not interfere with getting pregnant.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal imbalance which means you don't ovulate regularly. That would obvious mean you aren't as fertile because you need an egg to be present in order for fertilisation to occur.

Endometriosis (which I have) can also cause cysts, and also problems with fertility because of blocked tubes, adhesions and other physical barriers to conception and implantation. I still managed to conceive my son though!

You need to talk to a Fertility Specialist about whats causing your cysts and what impact it might have on your fertility.
