In your opinion, do you think the media is partly responsible for the rise in school shootings??

    Because of copy-cat's ...?

Every news program reported that the NIU student purchased gun supplies from the SAME seller (and the same website) as the VaTech shooter. They also mentioned the sellers name and website on television.

How many mentally deranged people do you think are on that website right now, buying guns and supplies, as I type this .... ??? :(((((

*** EDIT: Can we blame the media completely ???

NO WAY. But they may very well have increased the amount of killings, by releasing TOO many DETAILS to the public, and allowing others to become 'copy cats'.

Not really. Most people who are involved in school shootings are people who are affected by social isolation; the people who are teased or ignored. The media blows it up AFTER it occurs, but what about the before's and during's? Some people have a bad childhood and some are just mentally disturbed. So really, there is a lot of possible things to blame. <3

I Think Kids Taking Medicine and Playing Violent Games is a Direct "Precedent" to these Violent Acts...!!

No. I think it's the parents who destroy their childrens innocence by allowing them to watch/play/listen to absolutely anything they want who are ultimately responsible. Last time I checked, all "media" had an off switch.

    Parenting.......it's a good thing.

No,it's the government's fault. This is what happens when children know there are no consequences for bad behavior as a child.

Allow parents to spank children when they do wrong.Allow teachers to spank children when they do wrong. Then, after a few years they will learn.

    The media and the NRA

I don't think the media has anything to do with it at all. It's all up to the kids.

No i think people like you are just looking for someone to blame.. because aparently its not enough to blame the ACTUAL shooter for what he did.. Its always gotta be someone elses fault.

i think its the students faults the shooters are mostly student themselves being picked on until they snap

people are responsible for their own actions
