Can any one tell me the best way to go about asking for a divorce? The spouse is out of state, and at fault.?
My friend could easily sue for alimony on grounds of abandonment and adultry, but all she really wants is for him to pay for the divorce. Should she file first and then tell him, or try to agree on the terms and then file? Is it important that she be the plaintif? She does not plan to use a lawyer, unless he won't agree to pay for the divorce. If she has to take him to court, and he loses, will he have to pay the court and lawer fees? Is there a hot line to ask these questions on? Any help you all could give me is very appreciated. Thanks!

If the husband already found another person to be with, then he may want to hurry up with the divorce. She should contact him, if she can, and work out an agreement. If he disputes paying for the divorce, it will cost him more money. It will also take longer for the divorce.

divorces only get expensive and require a lawyer if there is property and custody issues-sounds like neither is at hand -she should be able to do it her self for a couple hundred dollars
