I just had an endometrial ablation and I am having problems unlike any my doctor has seen.?

Has anyone else ever had these problems after endometrial ablation? extremely bad cramps a month later, weight gain, lathargic, period has lasted 19 days so far....if you have had these problems please talk to me....I am beginning to wish they had just done the hysterectomy on me instead.

Update:

I had the birth control plan... I was on it for 4 months and my blood pressure was way too high. They were trying to control it that way. I am 36 and had a tubal 12 years ago. I had more blood work done today, and he examined me, but did no culture.

Update 2:

He didn't look at any of it, he just felt around and took urine and did cbc. But, all tests so far are negative for infection, I am thinking of using a different doc. Would that be a good idea?

Did he scope you again recently and take cultures to check for infection? Was your uterus perforated during the procedure? The device that they insert to do the ablation, has a blunt tip on it. If you uterus was thinning in any way, that tip could of poked a hole in it.

The lethargy would be suggestive of anemia which could be possible if you have been bleeding for 19 days now. The bad cramps could just be from the expected scarring that would naturally take place after this kind of procedure.

I would see if he/ she could scope you and run some cultures. You may need a couple units of blood and an iron supplement as well if you are anemic right now.

I would call the doctor today and insist that they try to figure out what is going on. I wouldn't wait another couple of days.

    EDIT...

You stated that they examined you, but did they go up into your uterus with a scope to look around? A normal pelvic exam just looks up to your cervix. They need to go past that to see if there is a perforation in your uterus.

    EDIT...

I think that it would be a good and smart idea to get a second opinion. Your doctor obviously isn't being thorough enough. Good Luck! I wish you the best.

Are you perimenopausal? I had the same symptoms awhile back and asked for an ablation because I'd hoped to not have those long periods that made me feel like total crap. But the doc said it may not do the trick, so she put me on progesterone.. (which helped for a couple days, then it was like someone opened the dam!) I wouldn't recommend a hysterectomy unless there was cancer. The doc could put you on birth control to control the long periods and all the fun affects that come with it. I just started using natural cream progesterone and it helps a tad.

I had the same procedure done, on Jan 16th.

Well about a week ago started having stomach problems.

Can't eat without getting bad gas and nausea.

I am not sure if this is a stomach bug or something to do with the proceduere I had done.

Have not called doctor yet as I thought it was stomach bug but everybody else who had the stomach bug had things coming out of both ends all the time not gas and nausea.

I have had some cramping on right side, and a headache probably from not hardly eating anything since Wed.

Not sure what to do from here.

    Thanks

    Sonya
