Chevy Blazer 1996 Codes?
I have 1996 Blazer, 6 cylinder, 133,000 miles.
The check engine light is not on.
I had to do vehicle inspection test and it failed as codes:
0301 - Cylinder 1 misfire detected
0446 - EVAP Control system vent control circuit.
came up.
For the first one I was thinking to just replace the spark plugs, which I am sure are old. I bought the car a few months ago.
For the second one, is there something I can do here, or is the require and auto shop to repair.
Also the card did sit for 30 days and of course ran poorly when started. It runs fine now.
If I clear the codes and drive for a week, is it possible those codes will not re-appear?
Also if I clear the codes, what it the cycle time I could expect with this vehicle?
Normal driving would be 30 miles on a weekday, with a few minutes on the highway.

Yes replace the plugs most likely its cylinder #1 that is misfiring and check the wires and set of new wires wouldn't hurt and for the EVAP check your gas cap it may be defective and also look for any loose connection in the system. Listen for any leaks in the hoses. You then can clear the codes and drive it for a couple of cycles to make sure the repair was fixed and the codes don't return.

a tune-up with cap rotor plugs wires fuel filter pcv valve would help the misfire.crank your gas cap closed and dont fill up with engine running,it will throw a code for an evap.

I am sorry, for starters.
My 1995 blazer, and my 1999 Suburban has cause many check engine lights.
Spark plugs is an easy fix, that you want to try first.
Otherwise... (I'm sorry) Each cylander comes with its own injector.

try looking interior the glove container. There would desire to be a decal that has a set of numbers with the VIN and colour code . bypass to a place like automobile quest and ask them for a e book, and study the two numbers. each and every now and then the e book has a image of the decal.
