  • Value of John Ruskin Books?

I have 12 different books written by John Ruskin. Sample of titles, Modern Painters, Lectures, Architecture, etc.

All have matching covers. Books are not damaged, no water damage or rot, but worn, and some the spine material is missing. Published in 1887, John Wiley & Sons. NY, NY.

Can someone give me a range of values these may be worth?

  • When posting - PLEASE include your car's Year, Make & Model.?

I am seeing a lot of posts with no year make & model posted. When posting always post that info. It will get you a more specific answer. Often times a given car has known issue that will match up directly with problem you have listed. And it saves the replier from having to say, "It depends on the car".

Also include the miles and how long you have owned the car.

    Thanks,

Replies, if you agree post a YES.

  • 2 Way Speakers with Factory Tweeters - Neon?

Vehicle - 2002 Dodge Neon, SE SXT. Factory radio and 5 disk changer. It has the factory 3" tweeters in the in the top dashboard and 6.5" speakers in the front doors. I replaced the factory door speakers with Alpine SPS-610 speakers. Once you get the door panel off they are easy to install with the included trim ring (bottom of box), just remove the breakaway triangle tabs. I connected the striped wire to the negative. Seems to work OK.

Until after installation I did not realize that there might be an issue with using 2 way speakers with the factory tweeter. The new speakers and total system sounds good, even at higher volumes. I don't plan on installing any amps or subwoofers. I just want to do quality OEM replacement.

    1. Will there be any issues with this set up?

    2. Does my stock unit have a crossover or some type of filter built into it, so that the mids&lows go to the door speakers, and Hi's go to the tweeters?

  • Volvo S60 trip odometer resetting?

Volvo, 2004 S60. The trip odometer randomly resets to zero. Also it seems like the gas gauge is acting odd. It seems to drop down quickly at 3/8 of a tank and the Miles Remaining will be what I know to be abnormally high, then drop down, ie shows 240 miles remaining, then 15 minutes later shows 150 miles remaining.

Is there any solution here. Would disconnecting the battery for a few hours reset anything?

  • Using 205 50 16 tires when stock OEM size is 205 55 16?

For my 1998 Audi A6. I found a good deal on used snow tires, but the size is 205-50-16, not the stock 205-55-16. These are going on the stock wine glass rims (that may not matter).

Is it OK to use these tires since the 205 width and 16 size are the same and the 50 is close to the 55?

  • Audi A6 1998 - Engine Blown?

Silver 1998 A6, front wheel drive, blue interior. Engine blew an oil seal and lost all oil and ruined engine. Car has 140,000 highway miles. Until engine blew car was running great, AC, transmission, etc all good. I got a few quotes on replacing engine, around $5,000 parts and labor.

At this point I am inclined to sell it as scrap and if I can afford it just buy another car at some point.

    1. Any opinions on that?

    2. What is the car worth for scrap, rims are good, all body panels good, water pump, alternator, dashboard displays, etc all good.

    3. What is the best way to sell it.

  • Volvo S60 Tires - 91H vs 93H?

2004 S60 2.5T, front wheel drive. Rims stock 215-55-16. I currently have Goodyear Assurance Comfort Treads on the the car. They have 50k miles and will need to be replaced soon. I was happy with the tires. The car is not driven hard, and is used in the north with regular snow and ice.

I found out the tires are 91H and the standard on that car is 93H. But that means I have to go to a more sporty tire like the Eagle. Which is not good as I am mainly concerned with a smooth ride, and bad weather performance.

Assurance does not make a 93H. One store would not install 91H tires on the car, one would.

Is there any real risk by stepping down one rating? I feel there is more risk of skidding off the road during snow than rolling the tire while over driving.

  • Dodge Neon Air Filter - Rusted?

2002 Neon SXT. How do I remove the air filter cover. I need to replace a headlight on the drivers side and can not get to it without removing the air filter cover and then a plastic hose. There are about five screws that are rusted locked. I figured I would have to cut them with a small hacksaw blade and just replace them. I called dealer, parts dept said top just unclips. I can't seem to find any clips and bolts go through the cover. Any suggestions.

  • Chevy Blazer 1996 Codes?

    I have 1996 Blazer, 6 cylinder, 133,000 miles.

The check engine light is not on.

I had to do vehicle inspection test and it failed as codes:

    0301 - Cylinder 1 misfire detected

0446 - EVAP Control system vent control circuit.

    came up.

For the first one I was thinking to just replace the spark plugs, which I am sure are old. I bought the car a few months ago.

For the second one, is there something I can do here, or is the require and auto shop to repair.

Also the card did sit for 30 days and of course ran poorly when started. It runs fine now.

If I clear the codes and drive for a week, is it possible those codes will not re-appear?

PS. I live in a middle size city, ie not NY, or Philly where labor is more expensive.

  • TruTech Electonics - Target?

I bought TruTech DVD player and it broke after using it 4 times. There are lots of complaints about these products on line. And it seems Target is doing nothing except adhering to the 90 day return policy even though they are more than aware of the abnormally high failure rate.

Anyone else have any problems. Any direct line (NOT 800 numbers) to call corporate headquarters in MN?

  • Bathroom Fan - Heater Out?

I have a Nutone 665 with Fan, Heater and Light. It is only 3 years old and the heater is not really used that much. It was running and just stopped. No noise, smell or anything.

The light and exauhast fan still work, I am pretty sure they are on the same power line. I checked the fuses, none were tripped.

Is there anything else to check? I can buy a new one for $80, but want to see if this one will work.

During the flight she pulls out some paper work, they chat and she is grad student working on masters thesis. She explains she is comparing the physical differences between ethnic groups. So he trys to play it cool and asks....So what ethnic groups have the largest members. She states that would the Polish and Native Americans. Uhm he says. She then introduces herself.....I am Mandy Jeffers, he says without hesitation.....Nice to meet you....I am Running Bear Kowalski.
