Dodge Neon?

The fuel filter is inside the fuel tank of a dodge neon. It isn't considered a serviceable part.

If you can't see the fuel filter in the engine compartment, my bet is it's in the gas tank on or near the fuel pump.

basically the same car. i have a 98 plymouth neon but wit the dodge neon r/t sport suspension factory plymouth doesnt manufacture that type of neon. but as far as i know all neons are made in either mexico or the united states. i have one from mexico and some of the parts are different from the U.S. models such as the radiator which took me 3 tries on finding which one will fit my car lol but as for 2001 they should be the same exact car pretty much

The feul filter on most front-wheel drive cars, has been located above the rear suspension, and most are designed to require a special tool to undo the filter from the lines.
