Volvo S60 trip odometer resetting?
Volvo, 2004 S60. The trip odometer randomly resets to zero. Also it seems like the gas gauge is acting odd. It seems to drop down quickly at 3/8 of a tank and the Miles Remaining will be what I know to be abnormally high, then drop down, ie shows 240 miles remaining, then 15 minutes later shows 150 miles remaining.
Is there any solution here. Would disconnecting the battery for a few hours reset anything?

Welcome to the world of Volvo where everything electrical will eventually short out or fail. It's the instrument cluster and/or the wiring. Expect to start seeing other oddball things happening until you fork over the $1,000 or so that it will take to replace it.
No more Volvo junk for me. They are not the cars they used to be.

Sounds like a short in your instrument cluster or a loose connection at the cluster. Could also be a problem with the wires connecting you cluster to the ECU... But I'd have the cluster checked out first, it seems like the most likely culprit.
